What can you do in Isla Chamame?
Relax.
The place is very quiet and invites you to have a rest or read a book.
The lower part of the cottatge can be used as a hut because it is equipped with private grill, a small barbecue facility, table and chairs, pool chairs and Paraguayan hammocks.
The cottage has a decking/balcony area with privacy and wonderful views for you to sit and enjoy the incredible scenery, eat outside if you so desire.
In the lower part of the main cottage, where we live, there is a Multipurpose Room (MR), a closed area with a grill, tables and chairs. There are games, movies, books, magazines and musical instruments for you to enjoy at the MR or in your own cottage with no extra charge.
Walking.
You can go around the island through a quiet and smoothly undulating path, enjoying the wonderful view of the houses in the area which are full of colours and scented gardens.
For those who like challenge we can offer a visit to the very centre of the island through a very wild but beautiful path. Once there you can experience the peace of the island and will find the perfect place to be in touch with nature, or go birdwatching on a photographic safari.
Rowing.
We have kayaks and a canoe for our guests to use freely. It is a good oportunity for those who have never tried rowing. Try something different! It will be easy! We’ll teach you how to use the kayaks and canoe before you start.
You will be able to sail in small streams and enjoy the hidden beauties of this paradise that you can’t see from an ordinary tour.
The area is beautiful, quiet and very save. It is a residential area with houses and their huge and neat gardens. You can enjoy the singing of different species of birds and insects at different times of the day, together with the scents of wild flowers.
Eating.
You can get your own groceries o buy some from the store boat which periodically sails along the stream. But you have to remember that it only goes once a day, around 3 o´clock. we suggest you take some basic provisions for the first day in case the store boat doesn’t show up.
And finally, we can provide you with mineral water, beer, cold drinks, coal and repellent.
How to get?
We are on an island, so you can only get Chamame by boat.
People usually get the bus boat at the river station, situated in the centre of Tigre, very near the train station and Parque de la Costa. These bus boats have fixed timetables and the trip takes about 50 minutes. The ticket costs not included in Chamame’s prices.
There are also a lot of taxi boats where you can choose your own timetable but the prices are not fixed, you agree the fare with the owner of the boat.
If you come to Tigre by car you can leave it in any of the car parks near the station.
Never been on these islands before?? Don’t worry we´ll help you make you booking, find the right timetable, ask for tickets, indicate destination, any other topic so that you don’t have any trouble.
Further information.
Isla Chamame is served by its owners, Debora and Guillermo. We live in this beautiful place, it’s our home, so we’ll be pleased to help if any unexpected incident disturbs your rest.

We are sorry but pets are not allowed at Chamame.

The rest should be cancelled when checking in. No credit/debit cards received on the island, only cash.
